contributed by Ronna Fleischman Television has been in American homes since the 1950′s.  After World War II, a television was an expensive toy, affordable to only a few wealthy Americans. Just 10 years later, nearly two-thirds of American households owned a television.  Today, 99% of American households have at least one television and the majority of households have more than one. When it comes to how Americans feel about their TVs, size does matter. So does sound and picture quality. Picture tubes are giving way to plasma and LCD flat panel televisions, 32 inches are rapidly growing to 40, 50, 60… and currently 3D televisions are all the rage.
